O Oriens I

O Oriens,

splendor lucis aeternae,

et sol iustitiae:

veni, et illumina sedentes in

tenebris et umbra mortis.

O Day-Spring,

Brightness of the everlasting Light,

Sun of Righteousness:

Come, to give light to them that sit in darkness,

And in the shadow of death!
